Vaccination

The CDC recommends that all people aged 6 months and older stay up to date on COVID-19 vaccines and receive a seasonal flu vaccine. If you are 60 years and older, talk to your healthcare provider to see if RSV vaccination is right for you. CDC also recommends nirsevimab, a monoclonal antibody product, for all infants younger than 8 months who are born during – or entering – their first RSV season, as well as some older babies.

HEALTHCARE REQUIREMENT
All NIH staff who have patient contact must be immunized annually with influenza vaccine or provide a declination as described in the Medical Administrative Series(MAS) policy found at:

NIH Vaccination Services

Each fall the NIH offers vaccination services for seasonal flu viruses.  The NIH Foil the Flu program vaccinates thousands of NIH personnel each year, greatly reducing the risk of infection and the severity of seasonal flu illnesses. For more information on the NIH foil the Flu Program please visit the website here.

The NIH no longer offers COVID-19 vaccinations or booster shots.  For the most current vaccination contact your personal healthcare provider or visit https://www.vaccines.gov/ to find a location near you that is offering COVID-19 vaccinations.

The NIH does not offer RSV vaccinations. Please contact your personal healthcare provider for an RSV vaccination. Alternately, most local pharmacies also offer the vaccines.
