Winner Selection Process
Verification of Eligibility
All submissions will be reviewed by staff at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Research Services (ORS), Division of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) to determine eligibility. Assessments will be conducted to ensure that submissions do not violate any rules(s), law(s), or policies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, NIH, ORS, DOHS, as well as adhere to the full contest rules herein.
Prizes
The winning and finalist photographs will be displayed on the ORS, DOHS website. Additionally, first, second and third place winning photographs may be framed and displayed throughout the NIH, to serve as daily reminders to leading researchers and prominent professionals, of the real-life impacts of the ORS, DOHS's mission. The top three winning individuals will receive a framed certificate/plaque from NIH Leadership along with recognition within official newsletter(s).
Selection of Semi-Finalist
Once a pool of eligible entries has been received, semi-finalists will be determined by NIH staff with expertise in safety and health, communications, and photography. Semi-finalist photos will be selected based on the NIH staff's interpretation of the “
Judging Criteria.”
Selection of Winning Photograph
An expert panel of judges will review all semi-finalist photos; then select finalists and winners. The winners and finalists will be notified by e-mail.
