September is National Yoga Month

Sept Fitness for You

This month we are also featuring the following classes

Friday, September 30 at 12:00 pm - Yoga for Mobility: Hips, Knees, and Feet featuring Leslie Pont, CHES, NBC-HWC, E-RYT 200.

This 45-minute class is designed to gently open the lower half of the body to give us a stronger foundation to move from. Leslie will lead students through a slow flow of hip openers, focusing on the stability of the knee joint, and the ins and outs of the foundation - the feet. Tennis ball and a block are preferred props. A small ball/aluminum can and a belt can also work as alternative prop options. You are also welcome to bring yoga blocks, a pillow, or a rolled blanket for hip openers. Step It Up! Take the Stairs at NIH in Support of the U.S. Surgeon General's Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities. For more information go here.

              

The “Take the Stairs” campaign is the NIH response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s 2015 “Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities,” with worksites as a key sector for implementation. In support of the project U.S. Surgeon General  Dr. Jerome Adams came to visit NIH.

 

 

In support of the "Take the Stairs" campaign at NIH. Fogarty International Center Director Dr.Roger Glass and Deputy Director Dr.Peter Kilmarx are posting signs encouraging NIH employees to take the steps.
