We Have a Fun and Exciting Event Planned for You!What better way to take a break from all of the hustle and bustle than to go for a leisurely stroll or jog around the perimeter of the NIH campus (total distance 3.25 miles). Additional items you may want to bring with you: Hat, Sunglasses and Sunscreen, a Bottled Water or Refillable Water Container |
12:45pm Take a Hike Day Warm Up Here is your chance to be head and shoulders (and knees and toes) above your co-workers. Come join the NIH Recreation and Welfare (R&W) on the front grounds of Building 1 for a pre-walk/fun run warm up session.

Race Begins at Approximately 1:10 pm
NIH Leadership will blow the official starting whistles and the Fun Runners will go first followed by the Walkers. Everyone will proceed down Wilson Drive to the NIH Perimeter Pedestrian Pathway and turn RIGHT on to Rockville Pike. NIH Take a Hike Day Trail Map
Everyone will be required to follow the pedestrian "rules of the road", and must obey the traffic signals at all intersections, crossing only on the "WALK" light. The NIH Police will be stationed at the intersections to further ensure the safety of our participants.
Please Note: This is not a timed event or competition. Everyone who participates in the event is a winner.

Water Table Stations will be Located along the Event TrailKEEP HYDRATED - There are five (5)
WATER TABLE STATIONS along the event trail and one water table station located above the rose garden in front of Building 1.
