Change of Address

Notify DIS of your address change by completing our Change of Address Request (NIH only) in the DIS Customer Portal within ten (10)-days. Also provide your new address to your Institute/Center’s Administrative office (and Office of Human Resources for those in employee/ FTE designations).

NIH-sponsored J-1 and J-2 Exchange Visitors must notify DIS of the address change within the ten (10)-day period in order for us to report this change in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) within the authorized timeframe. DIS notification in SEVIS fulfills USCIS's change of address requirements. In other words, NIH-sponsored J-1 and J-2 Exchange Visitors do not need to submit the Form AR-11.

Notes:

  • Non-NIH-sponsored J-1 and J-2 Exchange Visitors and F-1 students should also contact their sponsor to update their new address.
  • If you are not a J-1/J-2 or F-1, visit here for more information.
  • If you have an application pending at a USCIS Service Center or District Office, a separate address notification is required. Follow the directions on the USCIS web site.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact the DIS.
