The Division of International Services (DIS) is a part of the Program and Employee Services (PES) Cluster of the Office of Research Services (ORS). DIS provides immigration-related services to the entire NIH research community, including remote sites in Arizona, Montana, and North Carolina. There are over 2000 foreign national scientists currently at NIH, making up 64% of the non-FTE researchers (post-docs) and 35% of the FTE Research/Clinical Fellows in the Intramural Research Program.
We are excited to play a part in bringing the world’s top researchers to NIH to collaborate on biomedical research. DIS begins working on a scientist’s case long before they actually arrive at NIH and we are one of the first to welcome them on their first day, going on to support them throughout their careers at NIH. We strive to ensure that the immigration journey of each scientist in the NIH Visiting Program goes as smoothly as possible.
