Message from the Director

ORS DirectorI am delighted to join the Office of Research Services (ORS) as the Director. During my tenure at the Clinical Center, I had the privilege of working with many ORS divisions as a customer and partner. I thought I already knew a lot about ORS’ services from my time at the Clinical Center, but my short time as ORS Director has already shown me that this organization is a lot more complex than I realized. Not only does ORS provide public safety and security, scientific support, and employee services, each service area continually develops new and innovative ways to support NIH’s biomedical research mission. In my role as ORS Director, I plan to build on the great work already happening at ORS by focusing on people, process, and performance to ensure ORS remains responsive to the needs of the NIH community.

The 2018 ORS Annual Report highlights just a fraction of our accomplishments over the past year. From opening the CRC coffee bar, to facilitating conversations about lab safety using crowdsourcing, to launching a new emergency notification system, ORS continues to provide responsive and dependable support to the NIH research mission.

You can stay up-to-date on all of ORS’ services throughout the year by visiting our website or subscribing to our quarterly newsletter.
