The NIH Events Management Branch Television Operations Center (TOC) is located in Bldg. 10, the Clinical Center, Room B2L113.
The TOC has the unique ability to transmit video and audio through a variety of distribution vehicles anywhere in the world.
The TOC enables clients to broadcast an event from any of the Centrally-managed Conference facilities within the main NIH campus and off-site NIH facilities, as well as other off-site venues (i.e. Hotels, Conference Centers, etc.) collaborated with the CIT Videocast team. It has the teleport capability of connecting NIH Scientific staff to the media, conferences, and symposia's around the world both on-site and virtually.
Even out-of-this-world connections are possible. With collaboration of HHS and NASA, the TOC was instrumental in connecting the NIH Director, Dr. Francis Collins, to the International Space Station for an 2018 interview with Astronaut Dr. Kate Rubins about her DNA sequencing experiments in outer space.
