Take-A-Hike Day is the NIH's largest wellness event with more than 18,000 participants over the past 15 years. Take-A-Hike Day returns to the Bethesda campus and other NIH locations on Thursday, June 6. Register for the event here.
The NIH community is invited to take this opportunity to include physical activity in their day and have fun! Details follow:
- Schedule - Join us on the main campus in front of Building 1. The event kicks off at 11:30 am with opening remarks at 11:50 am.
- Bethesda Campus – View more information. Runners, walkers, and rollers will depart for the 3.25-mile trek around the Bethesda perimeter at noon.
- Other NIH locations – View the Schedule of Events or check out the route maps for each location: (Democracy Plaza, Executive Boulevard, Bayview, Fishers Lane, Rockledge, Shady Grove, Rocky Mountain Laboratories, and Research Triangle Park/NIEHS.)
- Can't make it to an NIH Campus? Teleworkers and remote workers are encouraged to register and “Take-A-Hike" with a friend, family member, or neighbor. We aim for the day's event to be interactive! Please follow us on Twitter and the Wellness@NIH Facebook Group . We encourage you to share photos, short videos, memes - anything from your day's activities using #TakeAHikeNIH.
Take-A-Hike Day is a voluntary event – please obtain your supervisor's approval before participating.
