Behavior, Social Management, and Enrichment

​​DVR animal behaviorists provide expertise and consultation to NIH investigators and veterinarians. The DVR behavior management staff also designs programs to enrich environments and ensure the psychological well-being of research animals. Programs are in place which address social housing, manipulable objects, food treats, exercise, animal training and conditioning, innovative housing, and human interactions for each animal species maintained in DVR facilities and across NIH.
