AlertNIH is the official emergency notification system for the NIH community. If there is an emergency, campus closure or delay (not due to snow), alerts will only be sent to those who have signed up.

In order to receive alerts, you must provide accurate contact information in the NIH Enterprise Directory (NED).
Important: Due to Privacy Act requirements, you must OPT IN to receive alerts on your personal phone and personal email. Both of these steps may be completed in the NED Portal.
Don't have access to the NED Portal? Download an Opt-In Form and return the completed form to your Admin Officer or Project Officer.

In addition to phone and email, NIH staff may receive alerts on the free AlertNIH mobile app, hosted by BlackBerry® AtHoc. Please note that you must have a valid email address in NED to complete the app registration. Our Organization Code is NIH.
