NIH 911 Call Center (Emergency Communications Center)

The NIH Emergency Communications Center (ECC) serves as the critical hub for emergency response within the NIH community. Operating 24/7, ECC personnel answer 911 calls and dispatch police, fire, and medical resources as needed. Our team ensures rapid coordination of emergency responders.

As the first point of contact in emergencies, our trained staff provide immediate guidance to callers, helping them manage critical situations until first responders arrive. ECC personnel also provide active monitoring of NIH's security infrastructure, including radios, alarms, and surveillance systems. Dedicated to the safety and security of the NIH community, the ECC has a vital role in supporting the NIH mission.

For non-emergency calls to the ECC, dial (301) 496-5685.
