Along with Lettuce,
the image shows GFP (top) and an RNA aptamer with a similar function called
Spinach (bottom right). The findings described in this article shed light on
how the structural organization of DNA helps confer biochemical function, and
suggest that DNA can self-assemble into complex 3D structures. Artwork was
created with data determined by X-ray crystallography, and visualized with UCSF
Chimera and Autodesk 3ds Max.
