Beginning, Tuesday, January 16, the Patient/Patient Visitor Badging Station (Building 68) at the West Drive entrance off W. Cedar Lane, will undergo Phase I of a planned renovation. This work will require the entrance to be closed through March 3, reopening on Monday, March 4, 2024.
During the closure, all patients/patient visitors should use the NIH Gateway Drive entrance on Rockville Pike (355/Wisconsin Avenue) to enter campus.
The Vehicle Inspection at NIH Gateway Drive (Building 66A) will be open 4am – 10pm, Monday – Friday, and 6am – 10pm, weekend and holidays to accommodate the increased traffic. After 10pm, patients and visitors should use the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF).
Other Issues of Importance:
- Taxis and ridesharing (Uber, Lyft) should also use NIH Gateway Drive
- For GPS address, please use, “NIH Visitor Gateway Parking"
- Free valet parking continues to be highly recommended for patients and their visitors; 7am – 7pm, Monday – Friday
- If self-parking, enter the Clinical Center Garage through the P-3 entrance, located on Memorial Drive
The Office of Research Facilities and the Office of Research Services appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important upgrades to the patient/patient visitor entrance.
