2024 NIH Take Your Child To Work Day In Person & Virtual Event April 25

Save the Date

NIH's 30th Annual "Take Your Child to Work Day & Earth Day"

Thursday, April 25, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm ET

The National Institutes of Health will celebrate its 30th Take Your Child to Work Day (TYCTWD) event in offering in-person, virtual and prerecorded activities including Earth Day.

We invite all parents and their children to experience in-person, hands-on experiences as a part of this year's event. We will continue to offer virtual and prerecorded activities to our remote workers and to our other NIH locations.

Please mark your calendars as all 27 ICOs are planning a day of discovery for children grades 1-12 to be inspired about science and technology, and by experiencing the diversity of careers and research that makes the NIH a special place to work.

Encourage your co-workers, supervisors and colleagues to participate, and please be on the lookout for emails announcing the following key registration dates:

* March 11 at 12 pm (noon): Pre-registration (Site opens for you to enter your child/ren's information and preview activities ONLY).

* March 19 at 12 pm (noon): Registration Phase 1 (Register child/ren for up to 2 limited space activities each).

* March 26 at 12 pm (noon): Registration Phase 2 (Register child/ren for up to 2 additional limited space activities for a maximum of 4 limited space activities each).

As in previous years, volunteer opportunities will also be available for students in grades 9-12 to help with in-person and virtual activities. Please check with your student's school or school district to see if Student Service Learning (SSL) credits are offered and meets school requirements.

The National Institute on Aging is once again sponsoring a book drive during this year's event.  You can drop-off new or gently used children's books K-12 in Bldg. 10 and 31 now until April 5. You can find more about the book drive on the 2024 Take Your Child To Work Day website.

Interpreting services and/or other reasonable accommodations to participate in these events will be provided.

The Office of Research Services, Program and Employee Services is the primary sponsor of TYCTWD 2024. Please email any questions and comments to Take-Your-Child-To-Work@nih.gov.
