Radiation Safety for Patient Services Personnel

Radioactive material and radiation-emitting devices such as x-ray machines are used in the NIH Clinical Center for biomedical research in the treatment of patients. Employees of the NIH Clinical Center may come into contact with radiation-emitting devices and radioactive material during a worker's daily routine.

The Radiation Safety for Patient Services Personnel training module is designed to familiarize patient services personnel with radioactive material and radiation-emitting devices that may be used in the various areas and address specific precautions to minimize exposure to these sources of radiation.
