Authorized User Review


The NIH and the Division of Radiation Safety are dedicated to maintaining the utmost security of radioactive material at all times to prevent the intentional or unintentional misuse of radioactive material. The Authorized User Review is an online, untimed, self-study course​ reviewing the NIH Radioactive Material Security Policy​​. The course is followed by a 2-3 hour practical exercise and exam component​​ which is required to obtain final approval by the Radiation Safety Committee to become an Authorized User.​​
