Clinical Authorized User Application

Physicians administering radioactive materials (radiopharmaceuticals or sealed sources of radiation) for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes​ must first be authorized by the RSC. Therapeutic medical physicists and nuclear pharmacists must also be authorized by the RSC prior to performing unsupervised work. ​Detailed regulatory information may be found at the NRC's Medical Uses Licensee Toolkit. Send completed applications or questions to RSCExecSec@nih.gov.   ​

Clinical Authorized User (CAU) Application

CAU application components differ depending on what pathway a physician qualifies, and which uses are requested. For detailed instructions, review  NRC Form 313a(AUD) for diagnostic uses, NRC Form 313a(AUT) for therapeutic uses of radiopharmaceuticals,  or  NRC Form 313a(AUS) for radiation oncology uses of sealed sources.

Authorized Medical Physicist (AMP)​ ​Application​​
