An NIH police officer stopped a vehicle near South and Center Drives on October 7 after noticing mismatched license plates. The driver was found to have a suspended license and couldn't provide registration or insurance, because the car was never actually registered.
After confirming the vehicle was unregistered, officers arranged for it to be towed. A contraband knife discovered during an inventory search was seized. The driver received several citations, for driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured, unregistered vehicle. NIH Police remind everyone it is a requirement to actually register your vehicles and please ensure all vehicles on campus are properly insured and documented.
