Lincoln Drive at Old Georgetown Road Opening Delayed to October 24
Due to permitting issues, supply chain material availability and other unexpected construction delays, the expansion, upgrade and reopening of the Lincoln Drive at Old Georgetown Road vehicle and pedestrian entrance/exit has been delayed until Monday, October 24. Once complete, the hours of operation will be 6am – 7pm, Monday – Friday for inbound and outbound traffic.
While this location remains closed, consider entering and exiting campus using the pedestrian and vehicle gates along Old Georgetown Road. Please visit the NIH Employee Campus Map for specific locations.
As a reminder, the improvements at Lincoln Drive are part of the NIH Building for All campaign, a joint effort of the Office of Research Facilities and the Office of Research Services to provide mitigation strategies addressing traffic and parking issues associated with major construction projects in the northwest portion of the Bethesda campus.
The NIH recognizes and appreciates the considerable adjustments staff are making as we undertake these major, critical improvements to our research capabilities, patient experience and hospital operations.
Additional information about upcoming changes, including suggestions on where to park and enter campus based on where you live and work and the most up-to-date information related to parking, traffic and associated construction are available at the NIH Traffic website. For construction-related questions, use the ORF Response mailbox. For traffic/parking/access questions, use the ORS Information Line or call 301-594-6677.
