Take-A-Hike Day June 15

Take-A-Hike Day returns to the Bethesda campus and other NIH locations on Thursday, June 15. Join us at 12:00 pm ET on the main campus in front of Building 1. The event kicks off at 11:30 am with opening remarks at 11:50 am. Register for the event and find more information about the on-campus event as well as these off-campus NIH locations: Fishers Lane, Rocky Mountain Laboratories, and Research Triangle Park/NIEHS.

Runners, walkers and rollers will depart for the 3.25-mile trek around the NIH perimeter at 12:00 pm. Take-A-Hike Day is the NIH's largest wellness event with more than 18,000 participants over the past 14 years. The NIH community is invited to take this opportunity to include physical activity in their day and have fun while doing it. Teleworkers and remote workers are encouraged to register and “Take-A-Hike" with a friend, family member or neighbor in their areas. We also want the day's event to be interactive, so follow us on Twitter and the Facebook Group . We encourage you to share photos, short videos, memes - anything from your day's activities using #TakeAHikeNIH.

Take-A-Hike Day is a voluntary event, so we ask that you obtain your supervisor's approval before participating. Individuals with disabilities who need sign language interpreting and/or other reasonable accommodations to participate in this event should contact Linda Kiefer at kieferli@od.nih.gov. Requests should be made at least five days in advance. Call 711 to access Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS).
