West Drive Patient/Patient Visitor Entrance Closed May 11 – 24

The NIH is conducting essential maintenance work at the West Drive Patient/Patient Visitor entrance off W. Cedar Lane from Monday, May 11 – Sunday, May 24, 2026. During this period, West Drive will be closed and visitor traffic will be re-routed through either NIH Gateway Drive (Gateway Vehicle Inspection Station) or the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF) depending on the day and time. West Drive will reopen at 6am on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026.

To compensate for the closure, the Gateway Vehicle Inspection Station will have temporary expanded hours of operations as follows:

NIH Gateway Drive (Gateway Vehicle Inspection Station)

4am – 10pm (Weekdays)

6am – 10pm (Weekends)

The CVIF is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Signage will be installed and security staff will be on site at West Drive to direct visitors to the other entrances. Please help us by ensuring your patients are aware of this temporary closure prior to arrival.
