Well-Being, Work and Family Resources Still Available

A message from the Directors of the Office of Research Services and Office of Human Resources:

As National Work and Family Month comes to a close, taking care of your personal well-being should be something that you do daily. As co-sponsors of the annual event, we hope this year's events and resources were helpful in getting you to pause and "reboot" yourselves. One month is not enough time to highlight all the resources the NIH has to offer in assisting with work and family responsibilities and maintaining your personal well-being. The Work and Family Month webpage (https://www.workfamilymonth.ors.nih.gov) will continue to be available throughout the upcoming holiday season. Be sure to bookmark the page to have it available when you need it.

Here are a few highlighted webinars you might have missed that are now archived and available on the NIH VideoCast (https://videocast.nih.gov/PastEvents):

We would be remiss not to remind you of a few upcoming events in November. The Federal Benefits Open Season will be held November 8 – December 13. The NIH Office of Human Resources (OHR), Retirement and Employee Benefits Branch will be hosting several virtual Open Season Events. For more information, visit the Benefits Calendar of Events at https://hr.nih.gov/benefits/events.

If you are not a member of the NIH Leave Bank (https://hr.nih.gov/benefits/leave/leave-bank), Open Enrollment will be held November 8 – December 13. Employees can enroll using ITAS.

Lastly, as we approach the end of the 2021 leave year, if you find you have use-or-lose annual leave that you do not plan on using by January 01, 2022, please consider donating to the Leave Bank or a VLTP Leave Recipient in need using the "Donate to Leave Bank" and/or "Donate to VLTP" options in ITAS.

With the uncertainty of when we will all be back to our physical workspaces and what that will look like, know the NIH is here to support you. If you are unable to find a resource to assist you with your work, family and well-being responsibilities, please send your request to the NEW worklife@nih.gov mailbox. Also, send your ideas and suggestions on how we can continue to support you in the upcoming months.

Take care,

Julie Broussard Berko
