The NIH will host the 31st Annual Take Your Child to Work Day (TYCTWD), including Earth Day activities, on Thursday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Employees are invited to register their school-age children (grades 1–12) for a day of in-person and virtual educational activities highlighting the important work being done across NIH.
Activity Preview: March 17–23
Beginning March 17 at 12:00 p.m. ET, you may securely access* the TYCTWD registration website to:
- Enter, edit, or remove information about your child(ren) participating in this year's event
- Browse more than 200 in-person and virtual activities with your child and decide which ones to register for when registration opens on March 24
- Learn about student volunteer opportunities for grades 9–12
- Volunteer activities do not count toward the activity registration limit
- Students may register for up to three (3) volunteer activities
- Explore special Earth Day activities planned for the event
*The registration site can only be accessed using NIH PIV card login credentials (on-site or through VPN).
Registration Dates - Please mark your calendar:
- March 17, 12:00 p.m. ET – Activity preview opens
- March 24, 12:00 p.m. ET – Phase 1 registration begins (one limited-space activity per child)
- April 7, 12:00 p.m. ET – Phase 2 registration begins (additional limited-space activities)

Pre-Registration Requirement
During pre-registration, you will be asked to review and acknowledge:
- A photo disclaimer related to event photography
- Reasonable accommodation information
You must confirm these statements during pre-registration in order to register your child(ren) for activities beginning March 24.
