NIH Radioactive Materials Deliveries Move to Building 13 Effective August 27

Effective August 27, 2026, the NIH location for receipt and shipment of radioactive materials is moving to Building 13. This change affects all radioactive material orders delivered to the NIH Bethesda campus.

This notice is being shared campus-wide because the change may affect personnel involved in purchasing, ordering, receiving, delivery, security, laboratory operations and radioactive material use. Please share this information with others in your area who may be involved in these activities.

As a reminder, all radioactive material orders must first be delivered to Radiation Safety. Beginning August 27, 2026, the following complete delivery address must be used for all radioactive material orders:

Action Required:

Personnel who order, purchase or facilitate the delivery of radioactive materials should:

  1. Begin using the new address for deliveries on or after August 27, 2026.
  2. Update saved delivery information in purchasing systems, vendor accounts, ordering templates and other records, as applicable.
  3. Provide the complete address, including 13 South Drive, Bldg. 13, Room G360, Platform C, and ZIP Code 20892-5712, when placing radioactive material orders.
  4. Ensure the appropriate Authorized User (AU) number is included with the delivery information.

Please note that previously saved or distributed address information may no longer be accurate. Using the complete new address will help prevent delays or misrouting of shipments.
