Grief and Well-Being Virtual Support Groups Available in July​

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have faced many twist and turns, times of uncertainty and loss. Managing bereavement during the pandemic can be very difficult due to the physical distancing, constant loss, travel restrictions and disruption of traditional in-person mourning rituals. With our Resource and Referral service partner, LifeWork Strategies, the new Grief Support Group will be available for those who are grieving or have experienced the loss of a loved one. The Well-Being Support Groups will continue to assist with resilience and exploring coping mechanisms to sustain mental wellness. If you are feeling the emotions of stress, grief or anxiety and in need of a non-judgmental space to share your feelings, sign up today to join other NIH community members to offer each other support.

The Grief Support Group will occur virtually every other week on Tuesdays, at 10 am ET, and will begin on July 13 and continue until September 21.

The Well-Being Support Group will occur every other week on Wednesdays, at 1 pm ET, and will begin on July 21 and continue until September 29. Topics will be determined by the participants.

All groups will be facilitated by a mental health clinician for approximately 60 minutes. Sessions are limited to 50 participants on a first come, first served basis, and will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. Conference call information will be provided as an attachment in the confirmation and reminder emails. There will be simple ground rules and all things shared within these groups are to be kept confidential.
