Fitness for You -- Free Fitness Classes for June

The NIH is proud to present another installment in the "Fitness for You" Free Fitness Class program. For the month of June, the Recreation and Welfare Association (R&W) Fitness and Wellness Program will be offering a wide range of free fitness classes at various on-campus and off-campus locations.
All classes are free and open to all NIH staff.
However, please obtain your supervisor’s approval if interested in attending.
Special Outdoor classes begin June 16 outside the Building 10 South Lobby (next to the Summer NIH Community Market):
"Qi Gong" with Mindie Flamholz.
Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Building 10 South Lobby – Outdoors.
Through simple, relaxing movements and deep breathing, you will work with and build your bodies' own life force energy to decrease stress levels and increase overall health and well-being.
"Zumba" with Valerie Lawrence.
Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
Building 10 South Lobby – Outdoors.
Zumba is a Latin music based dance and fitness class - at a pace which both the novice and most experienced dance enthusiasts can enjoy. Never danced? No rhythm? No worries! Come for the fun – we’ll help you with the rest.
Additional "Fitness for You" Classes start June 11 at both campus and off-campus locations and are listed below.
"Pilates Mat with Props" with Susan Grant.

Rockledge (RKL I, Room 5070).
Pilates puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, and developing a strong powerhouse, as well as improving coordination and balance.
Props (dynabands and balls) will be supplied.
"Women's Self Defense" with Pure Performance Team.

Learn modern day reality based Self Defense tactics that will inspire, motivate, and empower you.
"Krav Maga Self Defense" with Pure Performance Team.

Krav Maga has become one of the most popular self-defense combat systems and is used by the FBI, NYPD, LAPD, Israeli Defense Force, U.S. and other militaries around the world.
