Make this year’s "Take a Hike" event the best one yet! Come be a part of the celebration! Our goal this year is to increase walker participation to record levels. If you have not participated in the past, this event is a fun-filled time. Meet your co-workers and make new friends while exercising.
All NIH employees and contractors are invited to participate in this Walk/Fun Run on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Join us as we take a leisurely stroll around the perimeter of the NIH campus (approximately 2.8 miles) while taking in the sights and sharing some laughs with your co-workers. The event will be held rain or shine. Of course, although we encourage all employees and contractors to participate, Take a Hike Day is voluntary and during the mid-day. Please obtain your supervisor’s approval before registering.
Support your Institute/Center when you register!
To register go to: http://www.ors.od.nih.gov/pes/dats/wellness/hike/Pages/hike.aspx
* Help your Institute/Center (IC) earn bragging rights for having the most registered employees participating in this year's event. Winners will be determined based on the highest percentage of employees who register within their IC. The top six (6) ICs with the highest percentage of registered employees will be recognized the day of the event.
Show Your Team Spirit and Sponsor a Water Station
* We supply the tables and water – you supply the decorations and IC staff to cheer your co-workers on. Bring your signs and pompoms and form your cheering section at one of the five perimeter water stations. Tables will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to sponsor a water station, please contact Pamela Jenkins at email@example.com or (301) 402-8180.
Individuals with disabilities who need Sign Language Interpreters and/or reasonable accommodation to participate in this event should contact Pamela Jenkins at firstname.lastname@example.org or (301) 402-8180. Requests should be made at least five days in advance of the event.
This event is sponsored by the NIH Office of Management in partnership with the Office of Research Services, Division of Amenities and Transportation Services.
